The Unshelved videos from the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the Friday Night Flicks of Byopia Press sent me on a hunt for introductions to collections of artists’ books. For those who like to binge, here are the discoveries so far:
Jaffe Center for Book Arts, Florida Atlantic University
Jack Ginsberg Center for Book Arts at Wits Art Museum

Wow, thanks! This is awesome.

Greetings-
Thank you for this informative list, which I’ll delve into during our holiday break. I did want to let you know that we have a fairly extensive collection of artists’ books at the University of Miami Special Collectionshttps://www.library.miami.edu/specialcollections/ (counting our as-yet-uncatalogued books, close to 2500). I’ve been purchasing artists’ books for this collection since I arrived in Miami in 2008, and previously built a collection focused on artists’ books by women at Duke University’s Sallie Bingham Center for Women’s History and Culturehttps://library.duke.edu/rubenstein/bingham.
Alas, we’re a small staff and haven’t yet built web pages focused on the collection, but this is in the works. In the meantime, though, one can find them in our online catalog by using the keywords “artists books.” Our Department is open to the public and we’re always happy to share our resources with visitors.
I also co-organize, with printer Ingrid Schindall and arts curator Sarah Marie Rupert, the Tropic Bound International Artists’ Book Fairhttps://www.tropicboundfair.org/, which has been great fun (if I do say so myself).
I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have about our collections, and thank you for these informative and entertaining posts.
Kind regards (and Happy Holidays),
Cristina
